Who is Joanna Lumley?

Joanna Lumley will host the BAFTA’s for the second year running, having made her debut in 2018.

The Absolutely Fabulous star took over from long-time host Stephen Fry, who had been the master of proceedings for 12 years.

Joanna’s first performance as host earned mixed reviews, with a misconstrued inside joke involving actress Jennifer Lawrence at the centre of controversy.

Joanna won two BAFTA awards in her time as an actress, both coming for her depiction of Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous, a role she held for 20 years between 1992-2012.

Her more recent work comes in the form as an author, human rights activist and star of various travel documentaries, which aired on ITV in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Joanna Lumley: Age

Joanna Lumley was born on May 1st, 1946.

This makes her 72 years old and a Taurus. She was born in Srinagar, India, to two British parents.

Eventually, the family moved back to the UK, where Joanna attended the Lucie Clayton Finishing School in London.

The school was no regular school, however, and concentrated on the teachings of social graces and upper-class cultural rites. Eventually, it developed into one of Britain’s top modelling during the 1950s and 1960s.
