Harris attended Bassendean State School and Perth Modern School before bagging a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia and a Diploma of Education from Claremont Teachers’ College

As an entertainer, his successful career encompassed work as a musician, singer, songwriter, composer, comedian, actor, painter, and television personality

Harris began his career in television, music, and art in the 1950s. He released a number of hit songs including; Jake The Peg, Two Little Boys, and Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport.

During the 1960s and 1970s, he became a successful television personality in the UK, later presenting shows such as Rolf’s Cartoon Club and Animal Hospital.

Harris’s fall from grace to grass came after he was convicted in 2014 for sexual assaults on young girls, including his daughter’s childhood friend and an autograph hunter.

He was a recipient of many honors including an MBE, OBE, and CBE, a BAFTA fellowship, and honorary university doctorates, all of which were revoked after his conviction.

Harris was found guilty of a string of indecent assaults between 1968 and 1986 following a trial in 2014 and was jailed for five years and nine months.

He was sentenced on twelve counts of indecent assault on four female victims and was released on license in 2017 after serving nearly three years at HM Prison Stafford.

Sadly, the convicted pedophile and ex-entertainer has died. Rolf Harris passed away at the age of 93 on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his home in Bray, Berkshire.

Harris died of neck cancer and “frailty of old age”. His death was confirmed to the public on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

In a statement, his family said he “recently died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest”.

“They ask that you respect their privacy. No further comment will be made.” Harris is due to be cremated, with his family announcing his funeral has already taken place.
