With the month of April quickly approaching, many can expect a new season, warmer, longer days, and a better outcome in life, according to TikTok‘s latest trend April Theory.
Recommended VideosAlthough much information surrounding April Theory, including when the challenge first went viral is still being determined, TikTok influencer @vaatsalya.c shared details with her followers about what the trend means. On March 28, the social media user explained one of the theories regarding the month of April is that usually, individuals suffering from depression, mainly seasonal, are “magically” overcoming it.
Mayo Clinic describes Seasonal Depression as a form of depression that occurs at the same time each year as the colder seasons begin. In addition to those remarks, @vaatsalya.c also claimed that during April, many people’s happiness could be from the warmer weather, the upcoming break from school, and spending time with loved ones.
She said, “April theory is the COMPLETE opposite of March theory. The April theory is when you magically get out of your winter depression. The days are warmer [which] leads you to things that contribute to your happiness, school is about to end, you make more memories, and life finally gets good again.”
Additionally, in a second video, @vaatsalya.c brought up the possible effects April theory can have on relationships. In the clip, the TikTok user claims that the month of April is usually around the time when couples break up. The reason behind the splits is because one or both parties are “starting new eras in their life.” She wrote, “This is the time when most people break up because they’re starting new eras of their life, and it’s harder to maintain a relationship.”
Since uploading both videos, each has collectively obtained millions of views and thousands of likes. As @vaatsalya.c’s comments about the April theory began circulating on Twitter, many voiced their opinion regarding the matter.
One individual claimed they were ready for the April theory, so much so that they got a new notebook to write down their future manifestations.
At the same time, another Twitter user claimed that they believed the April theory is real because of the crappy circumstances they dealt with this month.
While a person echoed the previous response by mentioning they were simply holding on for a better month.
A social media user expressed that they are hoping the April theory can add positive changes in their life.
Regardless if the April theory is real or not, it is sparking a conversation among others about better days to come, which is a good thing overall.
